Newmarket Pool - Learn To Swim Centre

A need to better cater to their growing community of families was the driver behind this building for an indoor pool facility. Located at the Newmarket Olympic Pool complex in Brisbane, this is a simple building designed to complement the existing facilities already at this site. It houses a large Learn To Swim pool, a smaller hydrotherapy pool, change areas, gym room and creche.

The design approach here was to create a straightforward structure to house the program required, whilst also dealing with heavy site constraints including large stormwater infrastructure located within the footprint of the building.

The building celebrates the joy of swimming through colourful and playful design elements.
