Camp Hill - New Build
Our clients had owned and occupied the house on this site for a number of years before knocking down the original post-war home and building their dream home on the same site. They had a good understanding of what they loved (and disliked) about their property and we worked together to design a home that responded to this, as well as to their functional brief and spatial aspirations.
The front yard is north-facing so their main indoor and outdoor living areas occupy this part of the property. Carparking and utility areas are situated at the low, southern end of the garden. The 2-storey split-level design flows down the site and uses the stair and levels to delineate clear living and entertainment spaces, kids’ bedrooms, study and hang-out zone, and parent zone at the highest level.
Views borrow from the surroundings – a large tree shelters the west-facing study zone and a picture window at the end of the hallway looks out on the suburban hillside opposite.
